Up until now there has been no truly sustainable replacement head. Other bamboo heads contain a hidden plastic core. 2 years in development, Truthbrush heads are another small step towards reducing everyday waste will fit your Philips Sonicare* brush.
The beautiful bamboo head has medium 100% castor oil bristles which give the same deep clean feeling, and of course like every product we make it comes in biodegradable packaging and has carbon neutral shipping. Each packet contains 2 heads - enough for at least 6 months of brushing.
The brush heads are compatible with Philips models: HX9003, HX9013, HX9112, HX9141, HX9172, HX9182, HX9332, HX9340, HX9342, HX9350, HX9352, HX9362, HX9363.

Alternative to plastic toothbrushes. The ‘recyclable’ heads on the market are still plastic which can only be recycled once into a lower grade product.
Truthbrush heads come in a pack of 2 and are precision engineered from sustainably sourced bamboo with medium plant-based bristles. They fit your existing Philips Sonicare* brush.
We recommend, based on advice from dentists, that you replace your toothbrush every 3 months (although we know the Truthbrush lasts much longer).
After use, please don’t leave standing in water.
We would love to find a genuine plastic-free alternative to nylon bristles which could biodegrade. However, after extensive research we realized that the only non-plastic alternative is boar bristles (pig hair), which would be unacceptable to many people. There are also unsubstantiated claims of biodegradable nylon 4 bristles but in reality this is not commercially available. We therefore use bristles which are 100% castor oil or (62% castor oil and 38% nylon for soft bristles) which means less petroleum-based plastic. We are constantly searching for an alternative, but until then, we believe that a biodegradable handle with castor oil-based bristles is much better than a plastic toothbrush.
The bamboo used is Forestry Stewardship Certified and comes from sustainably and responsibly managed forests in China.

To dispose of your bamboo toothbrush, simply snap off the head or pull out the bristles with a pair of pliers and either place the handle in the garden waste bin or home compost. Alternatively, you can send it back to us and we will recycle it through the Teracycle program.
